Michael Duff is an award winning photographer and film maker with more than a decade's experience producing engaging media in 30 countries. Michael has worked with leading production companies and organisations such as BBC, Channel 4, VICE, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, PBS, UNICEF, The World Health Organisation, The World Bank and many others.
Most recently Michael has worked on the BAFTA nominated The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan (series 3 & 4), as well as Tareq Taylor’s Matresa (SVT), BBC’s The Future of Nature, RE:TV’s Freetown The Treetown. Michael’s work as Director of Photography in Mosul, Iraq was also recently awarded a Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Documentary Awards.
Michael's versatility and real world experience means that he can work confidently and comfortably in a range of diverse and challenging environments. Michael is a problem solver able to hit the ground running, allowing more space for creativity and storytelling.
Michael's work has seen him travel the Mekong River from source to mouth, hike through the jungles of Burma with rebel soldiers, cover the entire Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, motorbike across Cambodia, investigate human trafficking in China & Malaysia, explore water issues across 4 continents, follow diamond dealers in Sierra Leone, and many more important stories.
His background and professional experience in post-production as an editor and a broadcast designer (as well as a film projectionist) adds to his tool belt of skills and talents as a filmmaker. Michael can reliably manage media, deliver rushes, edit in the field, colour manage and troubleshoot video tech issues.
